Bagoas is an award-winning belly dancer who is celebrated for his musicality, lyricism, technical precision, and charismatic performances. In 2010, he won the title of Yellow Rose of Texas at Ya Halla Y'all in the Professional Tribal Alternative Men's category, and has since been featured in Zaghareet Magazine, What Weekly, and Belly Dance Japan.
He has headlined as both a performer and workshop instructor at renowned festivals, including the Annapolis Fringe Festival, TribalCon, Cues and Tattoos, and Hard Raqs Festival, and has graced stages as a soloist at special events such as the Endless Night Vampire ball hosted at the House of Blue in New Orleans, the Historic Globe Theater in Los Angeles, and the Artisan Hotel in Las Vegas.
As a performer, he draws from a diverse artistic background, with an extensive history in classical music, fashion design, and theater. He performed with the Baltimore Opera Company from 2002 to 2007, contributing to over 20 productions as an actor, dancer, and vocalist. His journey into Oriental dance began through self-study via YouTube, later refined under the mentorship of Kateri of Egyptian Sun and Naimah, founder of Art of the Belly. From 2014 to 2018, he was a founding member of Moria Chappell's Wild Saffron performance company, where he contributed as a soloist, singer, costume designer, and factotum.
